Summary of Cargo Traffic in 2024
Over 37K tonnes of handled freight
In twelve full months of 2024, the cargo terminal in Katowice Airport handled 37 182 tonnes of freight, i.e. 1 248 tonnes more (+3.5%) than the year before. The result achieved in 2024 was the second best one in the history of Katowice Airport; the record-breaking result for cargo traffic was noted in 2022, when 40 646 tonnes of freight were handled in Pyrzowice.
Companies like DHL Express, UPS and FedEx have their divisions in the cargo terminal at Katowice Airport; they handle the entirety of southern Poland from there. Additionally, Lufthansa Cargo operates a road feeder service (RFS) freight consolidation facility in the airport's cargo terminal. In 2025, Lufthansa Cargo will expand its offer by regular cargo flights from Katowice Airport to Frankfurt; they will be carried out with Airbus A321F aircraft. In October 2024, an all-cargo route between Ürümqi (China) and Katowice Airport launched.
