GTL SA Announces Tender for Designer of Central Terminal
New passenger infrastructure to be built at Katowice Airport
The Upper Silesian Aviation Group (GTL SA) – the company managing Katowice Airport – has announced a tender for designer of project documentation for the central passenger terminal and accompanying infrastructure. It is the biggest project in the history of Katowice Airport when it comes to investment expenditure, scale and complexity.
The Contractor chosen during the tender will be tasked with premarping project documentation for following elements comprising the investment:
- Construction of the central passenger terminal (throughput: 10M passengers yearly) with
jet bridges for passengers; - Reconstruction and expansion of the airside area (construction of an aircraft apron near the central terminal, and reconstruction of taxiways Alpha, Echo 2 and Echo 3);
- Construction of a transfer centre;
- Construction of a tunnel connecting the central passenger terminal with railway station and transfer centre;
- Connection of the project with road 913, and construction of internal roads and system of car parks, including a dedicated Kiss & Fly area;
- Project for the demolition of buildings and structures, as well as a design for the necessary reconstruction of the technical infrastructure colliding with the investment. The contractor will also prepare a concept for the construction of a multi-storey car park, office and conference centre, as well as further expansion of the passenger terminal (Phase 2: yearly throughput 12M passengers, Phase 3: yearly throughput 15M passengers).
The tender will be carried out in the mode of a competitive dialogue (based on negotiations with potential contractors).
